Providing Innovative Packaging Solutions for Over 30 Years
In 1985, the Wrangler Company – now known as PackGen, emerged from a Maine-based filtrations company, UF Strainrite, which was founded by the current owner’s father – John H. Lapoint, Jr. The company’s philosophy then, as it is now, was based on creating value for customers through innovation and service.
PackGen was created out of the need of Strainrite’s filter customers for a cost-effective means for transporting hazardous material for disposal. From this single application, PackGen evolved to become a prominent supplier to the environmental market for shipping hazardous waste materials. Over the years, PackGen products have evolved to handle a broad range of regulated and non-regulated materials.
PackGen was the originator of the “pop-up” container style concept, advancing the product to meet UN composite packaging standards, and raising the bar for the packaging industry, as a whole.
As experts in composite packaging, PackGen continues our dedication to supplying the IBC (Intermediate Bulk Container) market, worldwide, with revolutionary, self-standing, pop-up style composite containers.
At PackGen, we build value by being “different by design” and through establishing long-term relationships with our customers. We strive to deliver superior quality products to our customers, to continually innovate to meet the needs of the markets we serve, and to uphold all the core principles that have kept us strong since 1979:
- Treat all stakeholders as partners
- Do the right thing
- Operate with a culture of family and community
- Embrace change and continuously improve
- Provide an environment for individual growth and fulfillment
- To handle a broad range of regulated and non-regulated materials
At PackGen, we are actively reducing our personal carbon foot print by minimizing the environmental impact of our products. Beginning with our product development and completing the cycle by converting all recyclable materials to its most environmentally compatible state.
